Some Unique Things Which
Separates Us
from Other Photographers in the Area:
Marty
has
been involved
in photography beginning as a kid with a simple point and shoot
camera. In High School his photography instructor recognized his talent
and he was asked to be a
photographer for the school newspaper. Since then he has taken many
classes and seminars to improve his skills. He never stops exploring and learning new creative concepts, methods and
techniques.
He has won several
photography awards and have been published in magazines and newspapers.
He has
photographed a former U.S. President, Hollywood Celebrities, Playboy
Playmates and Famous
Music Icons.
Since digital camera make it easier to take pictures, many people with
little
experience or talent think that all you need is an expensive camera to
be a Professional
Photographer. There is no subsitute for experience. Your memories are
precious and we feel you deserve the best quality images possible!
Our Guarantee
We are so
confident that we can
provide you with incredible images,
that we even guarantee them. We
absolutely guarantee that you will be thrilled (not just satisfied)
with your images, or we will give you all your money
back.
We will spend
time with you beforehand in a free consultation, to plan and
coordinate everything, so the images are really special.
Our
use, care and understanding with lighting is amazing. Your
images
are created with light, so we are really careful to see to it that the
light is absolutely perfect in the creation of your images.
We
really understand that most people don't feel comfortable in front of a
camera. We understand this, and work carefully to
help
everyone feel good and have a fun time during the photography.
Our
History
Martin
Gladstein, Glad Photography’s founder, originally grew up in Los
Angeles. Martin has been creating images professionally for well over
20
years.
His love of photography
began growing up as a
kid with a simple point and shoot film camera. In High School he joined the
Photography Club and took classes in Photography. His Photography
instructor was so impressed with his talent, that he gave him an
unsolicited recommendation for a photographer position on the school’s
Newspaper staff. Although not on the Year Book staff, many of
his photographs were also used in the Year Book.
He continued
his Photography education at Santa Monica College, then attended
California State University, Northridge with Art and Psychology Majors.
He
has
received degrees in Engineering, Art and
Psychology.
He also attended the Nikon School,
took self study courses and attended many photography seminars. He
continues to expand his knowledge by attending photography conventions,
reading and researching on the latest equipment and techniques. He has
won numerous awards for his photography and has been
published in several newspapers and magazines.
His photography
education originally began with film cameras, processing and printing in a darkroom, but
several years ago he switched completely to all digital equipment.
In
addition to
Event Photography, his expertise includes Family and
Business Portraits, Model Portfolios, Journalistic Publicity, Sports,
Catalogs, Products,
Nature, and Landscapes. Glad Photography is proud to be a member of the
Professional Photographers of America (PPA).
We Shoot on Location
Events and
Portraits on Location: By
photographing in and around your location we capture your vision. Even
if your offices are very simple, you will be amazed of what we can come
up with when we photograph at your location. Studio lights are brought
to your site and used if needed. Photographing one head shot to one
hundred head shots, group shots and corporate environment images all
can be photographed at your location. It is typical to frequent
companies on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis to photograph new
employees.
Polished editorial type head shots are more desired
today. This type of professional photography captures the personality
and professionalism of individuals to give their audience a better feel
of who they are and what their company is all about. Capturing a
library of images is very effective to be used throughout your web site
and for marketing materials.
Typical usage
for corporate images:
• Public Relations • Editorial Articles • Magazine Covers • Company
Website • Annual Report • Marketing Purposes • Informational Brochures
• Social Networking Profile • Executive Portraits • Business Portraits
• Executive Environmental Portraits
Our
Capabilities - No Job Too Big or
Too Small
Equipment
and Lighting: Glad Photography utilizes an array of industry-leading
Nikon Pro Digital Cameras and Lenses from wide angle to telephoto
including macro for detailed photography. We have studio and portable
strobes, hot lights, soft boxes and umbrellas to create the desired
look. When a special photo shoot demands special equipment, Glad
Photography also has access to every conceivable piece of photographic
equipment available at its disposal from other sources.
Not all
jobs require additional equipment, but when a project requires special
lighting or lighting techniques, the Glad team has the professional
equipment to handle the most demanding situations from basic portraits
to complex industrial and corporate setups.
We
can photograph indoors or outdoors with little equipment at hand or
with full studio strobe lighting, etc. We make people feel at ease and
consistently create amazing images. Our images are photographed in high
quality digital format to capture the finest detail possible.
Our
talent does not stop after the photo session is done, the editing room
is another tool used to photo-retouch the final images. The same
ability to see what looks good comes naturally in our editing skills as
well. After each shoot, the photographer performs all of the technical
post digital processing work back at the office.
Images are
carefully edited, converted to TIF or JPG files for printing or burning
to disks. Our knowledge with digital file usage for web, print and
magazine uses is very helpful for our clients when they need support in
these areas. And when our clients need large format prints, we partner
with photographic printers with excellent reputation and second-to-none
service.
What to
Expect
Ultimately,
our passion is to capture your personality, sense of adventure,
personal style, and to tell your story.
The
ability to
see a
great shot, set it up properly with lighting and have the timing to
capture the natural expressions
in people all comes naturally to us.
Photography
is a tool to explore the world, and we use it to make
extraordinary pictures. Our images are the result of this relationship
with the environment. It
comes from exploring the environment, knowing people, understanding
lighting, and uncovering beauty in the ordinary.
Our goal is
giving clients more than expected, actually caring about our customers
and understanding their photographic needs. During photo shoots, we
create an atmosphere which allow people to feel relaxed and
comfortable. We just like to have fun when we're working with our
clients. When we make our clients look good, we look good. We love
working with people and we love photography.

My favorite Photographer
story!
It takes more then a fancy camera to produce great pictures. Just by
going
to an art store and buying a expensive artist brush, doesn’t make you a
great artist. Just owning a expensive camera, doesn’t make you a great
photographer. It’s not the camera that makes a great pictures.
The
camera is just a tool. It takes a talented, experienced,
photographer/artist
who understands lighting, exposure, composition, camera angle, posing,
cropping, retouching, color balance, and all the other things that go
into creating a exception photograph.
There are too
many "Guys/Moms/Divas with Cameras” claiming to be professional photographers, but If you are not
getting the quality images you deserve to preserve your precious
memories,
it
doesn’t matter what you paid.
Even if you cannot tell
the difference between a
quality photograph and a snapshot, why settle for the latter, you
deserve better. Your once in a lifetime memories should preserved with beautiful clear,
artistic, flattering photographs that truly capture your special
moments in these exceptional quality images.
